Hey guys, happy Monday! Just wanted to apologise for being a bit scare around here, I have had a few things going on and because of it my blog has suffered a bit, but I’m going to try my hardest to get back on track and start blogging every day again. Eventually, I’m sure I’ll get back into a routine. So again, I’m sorry for the lack of posts, but I’m going to try change that sooooon.
The other day I had the lovely internet pleasure of meeting the creator behind a new local South African skincare label called Lulu & Marula. This awesome project belongs to one Miss Jesslyn Schlamm, who just like me comes from an adverting background. During the day she does her work thing, but at night and on weekends she says she gets to indulge in what she’s really passionate about, which is clean, beautiful skincare. Her products are locally handcrafted and 100% natural and on top of all that the collection is awesomely designed and packaged – thanks to Anzel from White Kite Studio (nice work lady, this CI is beautiful). I love that she has taken a chance and put herself out there, but done so in a very, very cool way.
Plate collection
November 5, 2013
We have been collecting plates for a little while now, lately we’ve tried to find one every time we go somewhere on holiday, that doesn’t always work out because what we want is quite specific, but every now and then we stumble across something cool, like the dog comes from Japan and the McBess meat plate comes from Paris. Anyway we unpacked all the ones we have so far, which we are getting ready to hang, when I see them altogether, they make me very happy.
This is the ceramic work of Miss Charlotte Mei, she makes and paints everything from plates to figurines to jewellery. I like the handmade feel these pieces posses and the not so perfect paintbrush strokes that make each one unique and special. I think my favourite is the long armed man below, I think he’s quite special.
– Having graduated from Camberwell in 2012 with a First Class Honours in Illustration, Charlotte works freelance as an illustrator and ceramic artist. She is member of Day Job studio.
Leah Goren you make pretty things that make me very happy
August 30, 2013
Leah Goren, is a young lass who I have blogged about before. She has just recently bought out some new designs that are too lovely. Leah hand paints most of her patterns that she uses, she’s famous for her cat head design, which is damn cool, but I’m happy to see some new shapes in there too.
Checked out her site and shop last night and thought I would show you what she’s been up to. How sweet is the bird dress and ceramic cat plate? WANT.
Looking at things for the house is one of my most favourite things to do on the internet. There is so much cool crap out there, some of the sites don’t deliver to South Africa, but some do, still just cool to look at and get inspired by. Here is a list of things I would snap up in an instant for our new house.
