This ceramic work is by Thail born ceramicist Vipoo Srivilasa. His pieces are highly collectable and he has exhibited widely through Australia and internationally. I can see why people would go gaga over his work, it’s so unexpected and unusual and the detail on some of these characters is nuts. I would be more than happy to snatch up like 10 of these works if I could, just think they’re all super awesome.
Some new jewellery has arrived at Wolves and it’s so so pretty. It’s made by a Cape Town label called Homeward Bound. They’re all hand painted nautical scenes of ships, lighthouses and boats set in resin and encased in silver and they are so well done. They give you that feeling like they were almost found at the bottom of an ancient shipwreck.
There are also beautiful metal planes to buy, they also look like they were part of a long lost hidden treasure.
This beautiful jewellery range called Après Ski is made by Lucia Vergara, a designer based in Barcelona. I have blogged about her pieces in the past and even own one of them, which I absolutely love. So yesterday I thought I would go see what she has been up to since the last time I fawned all over her work. She didn’t disappoint me, once again.
I’ve chosen some of my favourites off her site, but there are so many more to get excited over, so do check them out. I think the first 3 below are my favourites. Love love love.
Sophie Woodrow – ceramics
March 10, 2014These crazy-awesome ceramic creations are by Bristol born Sophie Woodrow. Now you know how much I love ceramic creatures, so I was very amped to find these weird and wonderful guys staring back at me from my computer last night – They look like something Tim Burton would make if he took up pottery as a hobby.
– Sophie’s sculptures are not visitors from other worlds, but the ‘might-have-beens’ of this world. She seeks to assemble creatures from the strange notions of what we define as ‘nature’ and of each other as people – as ‘other’.
This is Kaye Blegvad new jewellery collection, I have blogged about this talented young lass before because I really like her illustrative style and so when I saw that she had some new pieces up on her site I thought I would share them with you guys because they’re just so damn pretty.
This is how Roxy Torres went about making a first impression when looking for a job and she flipping nailed it. She hand-lettered manila envelopes and mailed them with her cover letter and resume to the creative agencies she wanted to get in with. Damn her penmanship is good.
