February 15, 2012

Ok, so the latest issue of Frankie magazine has taken really long to get to us, there was a bit of a miscommunication, but it is here now. This particular issue is really really special to me because I’m actually in it. The lovely people at Frankie got hold of me a few months ago asking if I would be part of their ‘What’s happening in your neck of the woods’ feature. Obviously I said hells yes, only a bucket of sad would of said no. Frankie magazine is one of my most favourite things ever, so be in it is just too special to me. Thanks Frankie faces for being such stars.

If anyone would like to order a Frankie from me, it’s R145 for the mag and R20 for registered post. Just drop me a mail and I will sort you out luckpony@gmail.com. They are also available at Wolves.

Julia Child could make these with her eyes closed.

January 26, 2012

My traffic lady bought this book in for me to have a look at. It’s an old school cake icing an decorating book. It is so old school in fact that it makes me giddy. Geez, what I would do to get me a ‘Sponge cake Novelties’ cake for my birthday. Look at that thing! It’s magnificent hahah. I love how you don’t know what the hell is going on or where to even start. Shame, it looks like gay over-enthusiastic pizza.

I also love love the baby in the giant quilted bed cake, complete with built-in mosquito net. Hahaha, flip these things made me laugh so hard. I mean when last did you have a slice of hat on someones special day? Bet you the answer is never. What a pity.

I wish I could make them in real life. I just don’t think my baking hands could complete such masterpieces. I need me a Julia Child, she could make these with her eyes closed, which is funny because it looks like they have been designed by someone who had their eyes closed. Hey, does anyone have a spare Julia moping around their house? I’ll take her off your hands for you.

The Frankie 2012 Journal/diary and the new issue of Frankie magazine arrived at Wolves this morning. When I saw the package I nearly ripped the box open with my teeth, Shane had to hold me back a bit. The magazine is amazing, as always. It’s full of the coolest things and people and photographs and the Diary is just AS AWESOME.

There are folders to slip your notes into, there are perforated calling cards that you can write your name and email address on and give to people, there’s a birthday list, a budget planner and loads of space to write up all your appointments, cake dates, parties, naps etc etc

It really is a sweet little book (hardcover) and we only have 18 copies available, so if you want one you better move fast. They are going for R365 and if you want it posted to you they are R385. We also post Frankie magazines out if you want, they are R140 each plus R20 for postage. Just drop me a mail and I will sort you out xxxx

Frankie Dairies. Yes or no?

October 18, 2011

Hello guys, ok I have a quick question, the lovely people at Frankie need to know if I want 2012 Frankie diaries or not.

They have kept 20 aside for me and are now waiting to see if I want them or not, so if you would like to order a Frankie 2012 diary the total cost plus registered post (it will be this amount if you live in South Africa, will be a bit more if you live elsewhere) to you, will be R385. They will also be in the shop for R365. How many of you are keen to order one, want to kind of judge the response before I put my order in, incase I get stuck with a pile of journals longing for someone to write their hopes sand dreams in.

Hello Sara and Tristan, hello Angie and Shane

October 17, 2011

This weekend Shane and I were featured in the City Press magazine in an article about what drives couples who work in the creative arts and how they get on with one another. They interviewed 1 couple from Durban, 1 from Cape Town and 1 from Joburg (Shane and I). My friend Doug took the photo of us and I think it came out really really nicely.

A new friend that I have just made, named Sara was also featured in the article, I guest blog for her on itswhatiminto – I didn’t know she was going to be in it, it was a nice surpirse when I saw her and her husband face. Hello Miss Sara, what a small world.

Well anyway, I thought I would share the photo with you because I really like it. Hands up. Smiley face.
