One of my most favourite restaurants in Johannesburg is Cafe Del Sol in Olivedale. I have only eaten there a handful of times, because it’s not the kind of place you can just arrive at and expect to be seated, you have to book way in advance, but man is it worth the wait. So when I learnt that the same owners were opening up second branch called Cafe Del Sol Botanico in The Bryanston Shopping Centre, my stomach literally did a cartwheel.
Anna-Belle and I had supper the other day at Cafe Del Sol Botanico and we were so happy we did. The restaurant itself is beautifully decked out in all shades of green, with living and hanging plants dotted all over the place. It makes you feel like you’re sitting in a conservatory on an estate somewhere in the Winelands, so pretty and tranquil and the food is so good. It’s slightly different to Del Sol Cafe in Olivedale, but still Italian themed and just as decadent and well prepared.
We reviewed Cafe Del Sol Botanico on Jobest if you want to get the full lowdown on this spot, but I couldn’t go without posting it on Lucky Pony too. So have a look at some of the photos we took of the place and do yourselves a favour and visit this Italian gem in real life, you won’t be sorry.
