Anyone need a recipe for supper? Here you go. Quick and easy like something that is quick and easy.

I tried out this paprika chicken recipe the other day and it came out super delicious. It was quick and easy and Shane and I couldn’t move off the couch after we finished eating it, we were like 2 beached Illovians. It was awesome.

1 whole chicken

3 tablespoons olive oil

juice of 1 lemon

salt and pepper

250ml water

2 onions peeled and sliced

2 tablespoons oil

1 tablespoon butter

10 rashers bacon chopped

250ml white wine

4 tablespoons paprika

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 and half tablespoons sugar

500 ml cream

Preheat oven to 180°. Place the chicken in a roasting pan and drizzle with 3 tablespoons olive oil and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Add the water to the pan and roast for 1 and half hours. Allow the chicken to cool and remove all the meat from the bones. Fry the onions in 2 tablespoons olive oil and butter until tender, adding a little water if the pan goes dry. Add the chopped bacon and fry until crisp. Turn up the heat and when it is really hot add the wine and cook for 5 minutes. Add paprika, tomato paste and sugar. Stir and cook for a few a few minutes, make sure your pan isn’t too hot at this point. Add the cream and the chicken and allow to simmer gently for 5 minutes. Serve with spaghetti.

*I halved all these ingredients, cause this recipe is actually for about 8 people and I also used 5 chicken breasts sliced up cause I didn’t have a 1 and half hours to spare or half a chicken lying around. It turned out awesome anyway….hope it works out for whoever tries it…good luck x x

    Oh sheesh kebabs … I didn’t see the 500ml of cream at the end. Scrap that idea :/

    oh no friend! yes lots of cream…. sorry. if i was your husband i would cry & cry cry. i love all things with milk in it.

    I know! Can you imagine: no chocolate, no ice-cream, no milk-shakes. What a sad state of affairs …

    Why not substitute the cream with soya cream from woolworths?

    i was impressed by you just roasting the chicken. for some of us, eating quality stuff comes naturally but making it is a whole different thing. i tend to date chefs and bakers because of this.

    i think i would be happy looking like a muffin except that i would probably try eat myself. not good.
