Where did my bed go? :(

September 15, 2011

On Saturday I decided to take all my hanging up clothes out of my cupboard, go through them and do a proper clean out. I didn’t even touch my folded clothes section, once I got through this lot I was so tired and sick of seeing clothes that I gave up on the rest.

I wonder how many of you are just like me. I love clothes, I buy a lot of clothes and sometimes I don’t ever ever wear what I buy. They just come home with me, get washed and then hung up, never to see the light of day again. I hate this about myself! I really do. So I decided that when I went through my cupboard this time around I would be ruthless and I would also make myself aware of what I really have in there, so next time I’m in a queue waiting to pay for my fourth pair of navy pants, I’ll remember that I actually don’t need them, at all and then I will swiftly punch myself in the neck before leaving the shop pantless.

I was proud of myself though, even though I did sometimes hang a couple of items on one hanger, after going through  everything I had about a third of the hangers left over and 3 and half dustbin bags full of clothing to giveaway. Whooo. I did however remember to save some for the next clothing swop, so perhaps some of these things will land up in your cupboard next hee x

I still have all of this to go through, but I think I will save that task for another day. I would love to see what some of your cupboards look like, are any of you just like me?

I wish I could of shown you this material mess in real life, I reckon this lot could of very easily broken my fall if I had decided to jump from a high place onto them – trust me the thought did cross my mind, I think it would of been quite fun.

i’m kindof ocd in that i take polaroid pics of my clothes, and stick them on the inside of my cupboards. this way i know what is in my cupboard (even if it’s stashed in some deep, dark corner), and i know at a glance exactly what i have. it’s also super easy to decide what to wear this way and makes packing for holidays a breeze 🙂

I’m really beginning to believe that Safrican houses/flats etc were definitely designed by men as i don’t know ANY woman with enough cupboard space! Or maybe we’re all just greedy gooses when it comes to clothes heehee 🙂

I go through my stuff quite often and I pretty much wear new stuff as soon as I can. I probably would have the same problem if I had lots of money though! p.s. I also like jacci’s idea

call me weird (or just a girl) but I love looking at closet pictures. and I also love purging my closet. I do it often (I find it cathartic and fun) so my closet is pretty minimal right now. by the way, looking at your closet I love all the prints you have!

I’m a bit odd because I LOVE cleaning up my wardrobe and getting organised. I do it at the start of spring/summer and the start autumn/winter.
