On Saturday Shane and I decided to go check out 70 Juta Street – for those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a little place near the CO-OP gallery on Juta street that houses a bunch of small shops, a breakfast/lunch place, a florist, clothing stores etc etc. It’s very sweet and because the CO-OP gallery and the Brodie/Stevenson are on the same street it’s such a nice morning out. We went to both, and lucky for us the Brodie/Stevenson gallery was having a Pieter Hugo exhibition, which was really awesome. His photos are of people in Ghana sifting through all the computer waste that gets dumped there by overseas countries -it’s like a computer wasteland and he has taken really amazing photographs of it. The exhibition ends on the 15th of December so go have a look if you can.
We also went and had lemonade and french toast at Post. My lovely friend Delia’s brother has opened up this little spot with some friends of his. It’s very sweet and they play good old classics on a record player, very cool. If you are wanting a nice morning out pop past xx
Look at the rad extension cord that was in the CO-OP. So very cool.
