June 20, 2014

NO-MAN'S-LAND-exhibition-poster

A new exhibition is going to starting today at Wolves, it’s called No Man’s Land and it’s one I don’t think you’re going to want to miss. Four very talented artists, who include Sonia Dearling, Jaques Kleyhans, Nina Torr and Maaike Bakker are showing their work. They are all super talented individuals and the pieces are really cool. There are a few that are prints available in limited numbers and then a bunch that are originals painted or drawn on glass. You must come have a look if you can, you won’t be sorry.

I have included a few of the works that are up on display for you to have a sneak peak.

Berg an exhibition by Martin Rossouw

April 22, 2014

Martin-Rossouw-4

Martin Rossouw’s work is till up at Wolves, it’ll be there until the end of the month. There are some really nice pieces and what’s cool is you can buy them individually or as a set of 3 and the idea behind this show is idea is simple and fun – He’s drawn a mountain, who lives in the mountain and what a small piece of their home inside it looks like. These are all priced super well too, framed they are R450, unframed R350 and for a set of of 3 framed you’re looking at R1100, which is nothing. They’re a nice size too, bigger than an A4 but square is shape (these are not all the prints, there are quite a few more).

This Friday, the 4th of April we have a new exhibition opening at Wolves, it’s called Berg and it’s by a very talented young artist called Martin Rossouw (I will obviously do another post when all his work is up on our blue walls). See you Friday xx

– “Berg is Martin Rossouw’s first illustration exhibition exploring some of the colourful characters living in his mind. The series will feature some crazy mountains, each with a specific theme. Apart from the mountains themselves, there will also be the kooky inhabitants and a glimpse into their solitary everyday lives in these mountains.”

An Exhibition of Peculiar Creatures by Lara Meintjes

February 27, 2014

lara-meintjies--1

We haven’t had some art up at Wolves for the last couple of months, but we are very happy to kick off the year with some very very cool prints from a very very cool illustrator named Lara Meintjes who originates from South Africa, but now lives in California.

Her quirky watercolor paintings of half animals and half humans are not only charming, but so well done. Each one is unique and quirky and I think if you come in you’re going to have a hard time choosing which one you like best.

Things to do before and after the day called Valentines.

February 4, 2014

Another-Date-2-Pre-Release-01

So Valentines Day is coming up soon and even though it is pretty lame and a huge money making racket, I can’t help but like it. I like getting spoilt on the day, I like all the hearts and the sweetness of it and I love having yet another excuse to stuff my round face with chocolate bars, but hey that could just be me.

There are 2 things happening in our neighbourhood leading up to and after this big day, so I thought I would fill you guys in, in case you would like to participate because I think both events are going to be super super fun!
