Peanut butter and chocolate pancakes

Sometimes I wake up in the mornings on a weekend and just feel like pancakes. I’m not really a breakfasty type person, but every now and then sitting down in front of a stack of warm pancakes covered in syrup is exactly what I feel like. This morning was one of those days and seeing as it was also Father’s Day it gave me the perfect excuse to get my pancake making pants on! I.e. stay in my pyjamas.

Now pancakes are awesome because you can literally cover them in anything and they’ll taste good, but today I thought that I would make a batch of Peanut Butter And Chocolate Pancakes because what could be better than peanut butter and chocolate slapped together then shaped into soft fluffy circles of amazingness? Nothing, that’s what.

Choc Chip Pancakes

Sometimes you wake up in the morning and you just feel like choc chip pancakes and you hope that you have all the ingredients in your cupboard so that you can stuff your face with a stack of sugar and chocolate.

These pancakes (flapjacks) are some of the easiest ones I have ever made and they never ever fail. You know how sometimes you make a batch of batter and then you try to make pancakes and 85% of them fail because either the mixture isn’t right, or the pan isn’t hot enough, or they look like something you found under the couch. Well this recipe will have you and your stretchy pants smiling from one drawstring to the next.

I’m always looking for quick and easy recipes for things that I love shoving into my face and pancakes/crepes is one of them. Shane’s family came over for a quick brunch and a visit the other day and I thought I would try make a quick batch of pancakes. I found a really short and easy recipe online that I used and liked, so here it is in case any of you feel like smashing a stack of pancakes this morning.

Salted Caramel + Nutella Stuffed Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

These awesome looking baked goods and sweets that would make any pudding compartment surrender in seconds, come from a young baker named Izy who runs a cool blog called Top with Cinnamon. She comes from a long line of bakers and is particularly influenced by her Italian-American mom.

I think if I had to see Izy walking down the street, I would kidnap her and force her to force feed me these magnificents every single day.

Slappy Cakes in Tokyo

When we were in Tokyo we went to such an awesome restaurant called Slappy Cakes, which not only had the raddest name, but was also such a fun place to eat in. You see their tables are not like ordinary tables, because they have big rectangle hotplates in the middle so that you can cook your own pancakes any way you like them! Apparently you get these kind of places in America.

So what you do is order the type of pancake batter you want and then whatever ingredients you feel like going into your pancakes, like bacon, chocolate chips, nuts, fruit, Nutella, well you get the picture. I ordered lavender honey, whipped cream and HOMEMADE Nutella and then I proceeded to stuff my pie-hole.

Enamel love and Harrie’s Pannekoek Huis

Yesterday Shane and I went on a little trip to Cullinan and I came home with some enamel love. I have been looking everywhere for plain white roatsing pans like these and now I have 2, as well as 2 pastel coloured serving dishes. I can just imagine some lavender cupcakes floating around on those lovelies. I also bought some enamel bowls for Wolves and some mini mugs to use as bill folders. I could of bought so much more, but I held back, seeing as my kitchen is busting at the seams already. I love kitchenware, I could spend muchos moola on it.
