Stop! Don’t shoot!

October 28, 2010

Yesterday I checked out a link that my friend Beatris sent me and I was so happy that he thought of me when he saw this because I think it’s awesome and I wish it was my photo project, which it’s not, but the best I can do because this grand idea will never belong to me is own the book –  In almost every picture #7.

This is a photo series that begins in 1936, it’s of a 16 year old girl from Holland who has collected pictures of herself shooting a gun at a shooting gallery at a carnival. There is one photo from every year that she went back to visit. How it worked is every time someone hit the target a camera took a picture of them as a prize. This series documents almost every year of the woman’s life till present times. Man, look at these amazing pictures. I love them and I need this book, along with a couple of other crazy awesome books on this site. I’ve already passed this link onto Father Christmas slash Shane. Yes.

I want these too. One is of bad food photography, where owners of restaurants or chefs have taken their own “beauty” shots of their food. The next one is of couples taking pictures of each other on holiday in the same location, in the same spot and often in the same pose, cause they can’t be in the picture together. It’s a great collection of old photos. And the third one is of everyday people being put on show, but again the photos look amazing. Oh books you make me sing with my eyes closed.
