photography, PLACES, places to go, stuff to do

Annnnnnd I’m back.

January 7, 2013

Hello and Happy New Year everyone. We are back from our road trip, back in Johannesburg and nearly back at work. Wolves and Good Luck Club reopen tomorrow whooo.

Shane and I had an awesome December, we drove through the Cape and stayed in such pretty places. We went to Port Elizabeth for Shane’s cousin’s wedding, to Riet River where we stayed in Shane’s mom’s beach cottage, to Knysna, then to Paternoster and finished off at the Augrabies Falls.

I had never been to Knysna before, this was my first time and I must say it is beautiful. The town itself is pretty built up with lots of houses and shops etc, which I don’t really like, but the surrounding areas, the sea, the lagoons, the green hills, the tress are just so beautiful. And the water is so nice to swim in. It’s warm and calm. We really enjoyed our time there.

We also went to Paternoster for the first time ever. For those of you who don’t know where or what Patrenoster is, it’s a small town in the Western Cape made up of all these sweet, simple looking little white and blue houses (some fancier than others). The road that runs through the town is not busy at all, so we got to ride our bikes a lot. The beach is pretty and long and you can walk for ages and if you get a cottage on the beach front you have the best view ever. Shane and I really enjoyed our stay there. We rented such a nice little place right on the beach called Nieuview, These cottages were great if any of you are interested in perhaps checking them out.

We walked a lot, we rode our bikes and we read. We spent 5 days there and even though there isn’t much to do in Paternoster, it was still so nice and relaxing. It really made us feel like we were on holiday.

We then went to Augrabies Falls which was damn hot. We arrived at 4 in the afternoon on our first day at it was still 38 degrees. The place we stayed in was very basic and there really wan’t much to do. But we made the most of our 3 days there. We went on game drives and we went white water river rafting, another first for the both of us. Now i’m not going to lie I was quite nervous in the beginning, but after 5 minutes on the water I was loving it! It was so much fun and I will definitely do it again. We also played a lot of Scrabble while drinking Hendriks and tonics, which in my book is one of the raddest things to do on holiday.

But now holiday times are over and a new year has begun, which Im super excited to get stuck into. I really hope you have all had a good break and are ready for 2013 and all it has to offer. Happy Monday guys xx

    Hi there,

I love the look of your holiday images! May I ask how you created the look?

One of the first things I do n the morning is reading your blog- I love your style and your eye for the little things.
I have been reading your blog for almost 2 years now since Angela (now living in London) recommended it to me :-)

Best wishes from Germany and enjoy the rest of your holidays
