Zimbabwe.

January 10, 2012

In January Shane and I also went to Zimbabwe to see my folks for a few days. Bulawayo is still such a magical place, the buildings and old houses are amazing. When I was a younger and my parents lived here, we used to go pretty much every year on holiday to see family. My parents moved back there a couple of years ago, so it’s nice to be able to spend some time again with locals.

We went to the old railway museum, which was so very very interesting. The trains and coaches from back in the day were just too beautiful. They had Cecil John Rhodes’s personal coach there, complete with it’s own bathtub, kitchen and silverware. They don’t make things like they used to in the old days, the amount of detail that went into everything was amazing and it was only $1 to get in. Deal.

**Here are some polaroids of the last time Shane and I visted Zims.

I also took some pictures of some friendly Zimbabweans along the way and some super rad signage. The lady below owns one of the only secondhand clothing/junk stores in town. That is her car parked outside her shop. She was crazy cool, she had so much gold around her neck and every fingernail was painted a different colour.
